School of Politics and
Public Administration, which is a modern administration
school to meet the demand of the development of the modern
society, has four bachelor majors: Administration, Administration
and Management, Public Affairs Administration and Labor
and Social Security. It also offers 3 postgraduate programs
in Politics, Administration and Social Security. It's
the

only university who has
been assigned high-ground project of undergraduate education
of politics. It boasts 3 labs for e-government, administration
technics and public efficiency assessment.
We have an excellent faculty of 25
professional staff, among whom there are 9 professors
or associate professors who are mostly either PhDs or
PhD candidates. With reasonable structure of knowledge
and age, we have developed a hard-working staff that
is good at both teaching and research.

The school has excellent
teaching conditions. All lecturers offering major courses
have accumulated abundant teaching experience through
long-term teaching practice. On the bases of absorbing
and learning teaching methods both home and abroad, the
school has formed its own characteristic teaching methods.
In order to promote the combination of theories and practice,
the school has set up 3 practice places in Shanghai, offering
students the condition to improve their practical abilities.

| The school has reached
a high level of research. The lecturers offering major
courses have successively participated in and presided
over 4 national, provisional and ministerial major projects
of social research and 2 projects abroad. They have published
about 100 papers in famous journals both home and abroad
and have been given national, provisional and ministerial
awards in |
|
researches. During the long-term practice
in researches, we have established a close partnership
with universities abroad such as the University of San
Francisco.
The research conducted by our staff has its
own characteristics. For instance, Teacher Zhang yields
many results in research of contemporary Chinese political
parties
and politics (especially, the research in History of
the Cultural Revolution). Teacher Yuan Feng's research
in contemporary Chinese government and politics and
Professor Dong Baohua's research in China Labor Law
are producing influence in the academic world both home
and abroad.
