Leader Du Zhichun

Du Zhichun, born in September, 1954, is now a member of CPC and a lawyer. Du is serving as the Party Secretary of ECUPL and the Party Secretary and director of the Research Institution of Judicial Verification of the Ministry of Justice, PRC. As a researcher in judicial verification and judicial system, Du receives special subsidy from State Council. He was named the "National Prize for Contributions to the Senior" in 1999. In 2000

and 2001, Du was awarded the "Advanced Political Worker in the Judicial Executive System" and the "Advanced Worker in the Judicial Executive System" respectively.

Du has also presided many key national research projects at provincial and ministry level, such as the Research of DNA Database of the Chinese Criminals, the Technical Research of DNA and SNP Chips, the Key Techniques in Judicial Verification, and so on. These research projects have been awarded the "Second Prize of Shanghai Scientific Progress" and the "Third Prize of Legal Researches". Du has also published dozens of papers and reports in the field of judicial verification and legal researches in different journals.

President He Qinhua

Professor He Qinhua, born in March, 1955, is a member of CPC. He received his LLD from Peking University, and now is a director of doctoral candidate committed to the teaching and research of legal history. At present, Prof. He serves as the President of ECUPL. He is also a trustee of the Standing Committee of

Jurisprudence, PRC, the President of the Research Institution of Foreign Legal History, and the Vice President of the Research Institution of Confucianism& Legal Culture concurrently. He went to Japan twice for further education and has been getting special subsidy from State Council since 1992. As one of "The2^nd National Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Jurists", Prof. He has authored or co-authored many publications, such as The Tokyo Trials (1986), New Jurisprudence Manual (1988), New Wave of Jurisprudence in China (1991), Legal History Ⅰ·Contemporary Jurisprudence in Japan (1991), Studies of Law Comparison (1992), Legal History Ⅱ·Legal History in the West(1996), Foreign Legal History (1997), The Development of American Laws(1998),The Development of British Laws(1999), Legal History of China(2000), The Biography of Jurists in the West(2002) , and so on. Prof. He has also published over 130 papers, reviews and reports in many journals, such as China Social Science, Legal Researches, China Jurisprudence etc..

Vice-leader Tong Xirong

Tong Xirong, born in October, 1950, is serving as the Vice Party Secretary of ECUPL. Tong is an associate researcher with a bachelor's degree. He was named the "Outstanding Worker for Political & Moral Education in Colleges" in 1991, the "Outstanding Educationist" by the Ministry of Justice in 2000, and the "Fine Leader in Retirement

Vice-leader、Vice-president Zhang Zhiqiang

Zhang Zhiqiang, born in February, 1956, is a member of CPC. He graduated from the Department of Political Education, ECNU. He is an associate researcher and serves as the Vice President of ECUPL. He used to work in the Shanghai Bureau of Higher Education and Shanghai Education Commission for a long period. In 1994, Zhang was named

the "Advanced Worker for Allocation of College Graduates" by National Education Commission. He pursued his further studies in vocational guidance in Victoria University, Canada from 1996 to 1997. Zhang has published many papers and reports, including A Guidance to Job-hunting,Higher Education Researches in Shanghai etc., part of which have been awarded by Shanghai Education Commission, as well as National Education Commission.

Vice-president Wang Limin

Professor Wang Limin, born in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, is a director of doctoral candidate and serves as the Vice President of ECUPL. He receives special subsidy from State Council, and was named the "National Outstanding Teacher" in 1998 and the "Famous Professor in Shanghai" in 2003.

Prof. Wang Limin graduated from East China

Normal University (ECNU) in 1979 and received his LLM from ECUPL in 1985. In 1993, He got his doctor's degree in history from ECNU. Since 1985, Prof. Wang has offered over ten courses, including Legal History of China, Monograph of Legal Culture, and the Comparison of Chinese & Foreign Legal Documents. He has also delivered many academic lectures on the Rule of Law in China, the Judicial Reforms etc.. Besides, He has attended many academic seminars both home and abroad, promoting exchanges between ECUPL and other selective universities and institutions.

Prof. Wang Limin has published many papers, reviews, and reports, including Legal History in Shanghai, New Explorations in the Legal Documents of Tang Dynasty, Researches of Ancient Oriental Laws. He has also chaired many research projects, some of which have been awarded. Meanwhile, he is a visiting professor to several institutions and serves in many concurrent posts.

Vice-president Gu Gongyun

Prof. Gu Gongyun, born in July, 1957, is a member of CPC. He graduated from the Law School, Peking University, and his research interests include economic law and commercial law. Prof. Gu is now a director of doctoral candidate and serves as the Vice President of ECUPL. He is also the Vice

President of Commercial Law Division, Research Institution of Jurisprudence, PRC, and a arbitrator in the Committee of International Trade & Commerce Arbitratration, PRC concurrently. Prof. Gu receives special subsidy from State Council. In 1996, he was appointed as the leader in Commercial Law — a key discipline assigned by Shanghai Education Commission, and he was awarded the "Model Worker" in 2001 and 2002 respectively.

Prof. Gu Gongyun has authored many publications, including Company Law, The Setup & Management of Companies, Legal Issues in the New Economy, and Management of Financial Market & Legal Supervision. He has also presided many legislative research projects.

Vice-president Ye Qing

Ye Qing, member of Communist Party of China, born in 1963 in the City of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, is now serving as the Vice President of ECUPL, Director of Procedural Law Research Center and the leader of advisors panel for candidate masters of Procedural Law as a Jurisprudence professor, LLM and JD.

Since July, 1985 when he was elected to teach at the University, he has offered for master candidates and undergraduates courses of Criminal Procedural Law, Comparison of Criminal Procedure in Foreign Countries, Study on Criminal Law, Evidence Law of Procedure, Theory and Practice of Justice, Notarial Jurisprudence etc. Since the year of 2000, he has been invited to give lectures of Criminal Procedural Law of Continent China in Macao University. During October and November in 2001, he went to Columbia College in Australia to pursue further study of theory and practice of prosecution. In April, 2002 he visited Cambridge University, Oxford University, Warwick University and Westminster University for short term study. In October 2002 he was sent to the States for exchange and investigation of Criminal Procedural Systems and lawyer systems. From August to November in 2004 he went to the National University of Singapore as a visiting scholar. In October 2005 he visited University of Toronto Law School in Canada for studying. He was awarded Excellent Young Teacher in 1996, and granted Wanguo·Xinde teaching prize in 2002, and rated Excellent School Student Mentors in 2005, and the honor of Outstanding Young Jurist in 2006.
As an expert in the area, Ye participated in drafting Shanghai Notarization Rules and Shanghai Regulations on Migrants from other provinces.
Ye, the author of the “Criminal Evidence Research (2002)”, has edited and written the following books: Chinese Procedural Jurisprudence (1995), A Study on Legal Aid in China (1999), A Study on Chinese Justice System (2002), Study on Chinese Prosecution System (2003), Study of Chinese Notarization System(2004), Study on Chinese Lawyer System(2005), Criminal Procedure Law (2005), A Study on Procedural Evidence Law (2006), Reformation and Perfection of Criminal Procedural System (1996), Criminal Procedure Law (a textbook sponsored by State Ministry of Justice in 1999), Encyclopedia (1999 edition), Criminal Procedure Law (Key Textbook for Colleges in Shanghai in the Ninth Five-year Plan, 2000), A Focus on Procedural Law (2000). Study on Implementation of Criminal Procedure (2000), Study on Method of Criminal Justice (2001), A Study on Procedural Evidence (2001), Procedural Practice (2002). Professor Ye has also published more than 90 articles and thesis in Laws core publications.
Meanwhile, Ye is now a part of China's Criminal Procedure Law Research Society of governing, one of the directors of Procedure Research Society under Chinese Jurisprudence Association,and He also serves as a director of Shanghai Jurisprudence Society, a Deputy Secretary-general of Shanghai Procedural Law Research Society, an accredited professor for Chinese Senior Prosecutor Training Center (Shanghai), a visiting professor for Shanghai Lawyer’s College, Researcher for Shanghai People’s procuratorate and Professional advisor for the First and the Second Shanghai Intermediate People’s Court.
